Today, more than 200,000 (7%) Iowans are of Latino heritage. As our population continues to grow, so does that number. If the future success of a community depends on the positive futures of its youth, our responsibility is to ensure EVERY one of our community’s youth believes in their opportunity to succeed. Unfortunately, many of Iowa’s Latinx teenagers struggle with the belief that college and leadership roles are attainable for them. Whether they worry about affordability or feel unqualified, they deserve to know that support and opportunities exist for anyone who dreams of post-secondary education and/or a fulfilling career.
